Are you successfully setting and achieving all of the goals that you truly desire? Do you have a thorough understanding of how each element of your being works to bring about the results that you are getting in your life? Do you know exactly what to do to transform your life into anything that you choose by setting goals that you really want and prioritizing them? Do you have the focus and action skills to achieve one goal after another? Or are you like the thousands of other people who routinely set goals yet rarely achieve them?
"Goal setting" and "goal achieving" are two completely separate activities that deal with different parts of one’s personality. Goal setting has to do with the intellectual part of your mind–most people set goals that they reasonably expect to reach. If you know how to reach a goal when you are setting it, the goal is probably not a good one. The goal has to be something you want … something you have not come close to before. Your goal does not have to be logical at all to be very achievable! You do not have to justify your goal to anyone–not even yourself. Goal achieving is a lawful process.
While everything happening to our economy seems so far beyond our individual control, it can be unsettling – stirring up fear and self doubt. With a recession that continues to expand its reach we all would love to have an opportunity to create something totally new in our lives. The greatest breakthroughs have come from times of great crisis, times of great challenge — whether it was a divorce, a troubled time in the economy or a personal problem. As you move through those difficult times, you must develop new strengths, new skills, new attitudes, new ways of being and new ways of looking at your life. Don’t give up on your goals and dreams, though, just because "the time isn’t good". You can still make 2009 the year to uncover a whole new you for the better. NOW is the perfect time to gain new skills and take charge of your life. It is important that we have a thorough understanding of how each element of our being works to bring about the results we are getting in our lives. We need to know exactly what to do to transform our lives into anything that we choose.

Without a plan for your life, it is easier to follow the course of least resistance, to go with the flow, to drift with the current with no particular destination in mind. Having a definite plan for your life greatly simplifies the process of making hundreds of daily decisions that affect your ultimate success. When you know where you want to go, you can quickly decide if your actions are moving you toward your goal or away from it. Without definite, precise goals and a plan for their achievement, each decision must be considered in a vacuum. Definiteness of purpose provides context and allows you to relate specific actions to your overall plan.
