Use Powerful, Positive Affirmations

An affirmation is a statement of positive fact. It is always worded in the present and is best when it begins with “I am“.  Affirmations may be a statement for what you desire in the future, but the richness of the affirmation is always stated in the here and now.   Claim your affirmation now, as if you already own it.

Affirmations can be said anywhere, silently or aloud, and writing your affirmation on paper will hardwire your belief into your subconscious mind (use handwriting, not printing). The more often they are used, the more real, true, solid and firm they become.

Setting aside time especially for affirmations is valuable. You are in a highly suggestible state of mind 30 minutes before you go to sleep and 30 minutes after you wake up in the morning.  Capitalize on these times to focus on your affirmations. As you go to sleep at night, allow the affirmations or the main ideas of what you are affirming to flow through your mind. When you focus on health, wealth, success, happiness, love, abundance, etc, those are the ideas your subconscious will focus on while you are sleeping.

When you wake up in the morning, use your affirmations to create positive expectations for the day ahead. One of my favorite ways to start the is to affirm that life is simple, easy, joyful, and loving.  I affirm that I am excited about the new day ahead and I give thanks for all of the joyous, miraculous moments that I know I will experience in the day.

Visualize, experience, and feel yourself living your affirmations fully. Affirmations are very powerful when you repeat them in front of a mirror while looking into your eyes. All the negative thoughts and feelings that keep you from fulfilling your affirmation will probably surface. Let them surface and let them float away.

Do not speak as though the things that you are affirming are lacking from your life.  The following statements indicate that something is lacking:

"I want to be healthy, wealthy, and happy".

"Pretty soon, with enough luck, I will be healthy, wealthy and happy"

Instead keep your statements positive and in the present:

"I am healthy, wealthy, and happy."

One last thought on this subject: affirmations are always more powerful when they are combined with faith.

All the best,
