How You Do Anything is How You Do Everything

I first heard those words when I attended a "Millionaire Mind Intensive" workshop run by T. Harv Eker, author of Secrets of a Millionaire Mind. Neat saying, but what does it really mean? Let me explain why I think this principle is key to mastering your brilliance.

This principle can shine a powerful light on hidden and subconscious mental and emotional programming that stands in the way of our brilliance. For example, I was at a seminar and a participant was getting cold by an open screen door. Not wanting to disrupt the discussion, he chose to sit and shiver. Meantime, his wife got up to close the door that turned out to be sticky. By this time, the discussion was disrupted and turned into an examination of "How you do anything, is how you do everything."

This seemingly trivial event revealed some very important programming. The man chose to sacrifice his own wellbeing for others, but in the end it did disrupt the people he didn't want to disturb. He was unwilling to ask for help with the draft. He didn't consider moving out of the situation that made him uncomfortable. He assumed that someone else would come in to rescue him. He was asked if these themes showed up anywhere else in his life, like his business, his marriage, or his relationship with family and friends. In an instant, he saw how these themes popped up all over his life. But until he took a deep look at this particular incident, the repeating patterns he was in were hidden from him. The good news in all of this was that now he was aware of his limiting patterns, and he could change them.

Notice how you show up in your life. Do you show up late for meetings? Do you give something 100% effort for the first half of the task and then get distracted and never complete it? Do you deflect compliments from others? What can you shift now that you understand that "How you do anything, is how you do everything."

Write "How you do anything, is how you do everything" on a post-it note. Keep it where you'll see it throughout the day. Start to look for clues as to how you operate. Journal about what patterns you see and how they play out in other parts of your life. Remember, awareness is the first step in transforming and stepping into your brilliance

Make it an amazing day!
