How to own your future may seem to be a strange question to you; however, more people have difficulty claiming their future than you may realize.
Know what matters most to you. Be clear about what you want in your life and honor your inspirations when following your path.
Take full responsibility of your past present and future. Everything that has happened is a result of the choices that you have made, the thoughts and beliefs that you have had, and the actions that you have taken.
When bad things happen in your life, understand that you are the sole creator of those situations–even the bad things.
Spend time each day creating your future. Visualize events happening just the way you would want them to. Take actions each day that are inspired by your decision to follow your bliss.
Be a responder rather than a reactor. Choose to respond to your life, which means that you choose your thoughts and emotions to be in support of the goals and vision that you want to achieve. When you have thoughts and emotions that are not in line with what you want, your change them.
Understand that your future goals are more than just a destination. Your future depends on your choice to set goals that matter to you and learn from them as your evolve. Decide to be a life-long learner.
If you are not currently owning your own future, consider integrating the above into your life and be sensitive to the changes that occur in you life because of it. Claim your future. Only you can truly own your future; however, until you make a decision to do so you will give your power away to someone or something else.
Think about what it means to "own" something. You have power over that thing. You make the decision about how that thing will serve you, be it your car, or your home, for example. What kind of internal shift would you make just by making the statement that you "own your future" alone. Your future is there to serve you, not you it. This perspective will make you a very powerful creator.
