Rachel,
Patience goes hand in hand with tenacity and persistence. We all seem to be very impatient these days. There is a frantic attachment to getting it done yesterday. We don’t take time to “smell the roses” and miss so much in life.

I agree with Kevin’s observation about pulling out the seed that don’t match your mindset. We’re taught to “never give up.” I think there are times when changing plantings is a good thing. The quote should be “Never give up… on yourself!”

Loved your analogy using the planting and nurturing of seeds to ideas … Very well done!

I believe that we could all use a little more patience with ourselves at certain times and this beautiful comparison is a gentle reminder to allow ourselves that extra time to grow.

Great reminder Rachel. Speaking for myself, there are two situations where I find it difficult to be patient – first when I’m standing in line, any line. And second when I’m trying to learn something and having a tough time. I know I should be more patient with myself, but I’m one of those pesky Type A personalities so it’s an ongoing battle.
